Tracey and I are in the planning stage. You know, testing different scenarios to figure out what will be best on the looooooong ride. I've hit up several friends who have made long rides for advice and what to pack/what not to pack and you wouldn't believe how many little things you just don't think of until you need them.
We're also adjusting Ruby's (yes, that's the bike's name) parts and pieces to make it as comfortable as possible. High on the priority list was a new rear seat for Tracey as the stocker is like sitting on a teeter-totter according to her. Next was Cobra Swept footboards to replace the passenger pegs. I know this sounds like it's all about Tracey, but the reality is I've already ridden over 9,000 miles on Ruby's back and have made my adjustments - it is in fact Tracey's turn. :-)
Now, thanks to some good deals, and some even better friends, Ruby is transforming somewhat into a touring bike. She has a big windshield, saddlebags, a tank bag, and a backrest. On backorder is a rear luggage rack so we can properly mount our additional luggage...sure hope it gets here before time to hit the road!
So far, the waiting is the hardest part - everything else is coming together nicely.
